#ColoradoGivesDay with Reclaiming Hope
Dear Friend,
Today is #ColoradoGivesDay — a day of collective generosity in Colorado! And we invite you to be extraordinarily generous with Reclaiming Hope in bringing hope to survivors of human trafficking.
Your support ensures that hope, safety, and healing are within reach for the survivors we serve. Your donation provides trauma-informed care, life-skills education, transitional housing, case management and other tools that help survivors restore their dignity, empower healing, and create pathways to enduing freedom.
Unfortunately, hope can be elusive for some survivors. Please allow me to paint a picture for you, of what keeping hope alive can mean:
B moved here to be safe and far from her trafficker, who is her father/ boyfriend/brother. He knows how to track her down – through her social security number. She has to change her identity and social number before she can find legitimate work… She’s most likely to find a minimum wage job, since she can’t reveal her background, or doesn’t know what she’s good at… She may not think she’s worth more than that, either.
To survive their past trauma, most have developed unhealthy coping strategies. How do they replace those with healthy alternatives? Who helps them to relax and learn to laugh? What does hope look and feel like?
Most of our survivors don’t know who to trust. We prayerfully match them with a mentor who’s been trained in trauma-informed care. But trust and hope take time to build.
This is where our staff and Mentors make a profound difference in the lives of the survivors. Healing from such intense trauma is not a linear experience – it’s a roller coaster.
Our Hope Bags are a tangible sign that the victim can begin again, can trust a law enforcement agent (who is equipped ahead of time with our Hope Bags), and can have a different future. We’ve now sent out over 8,000 Hope Bags nationally, with your help. That’s a lot of hope spread from coast to coast.
When you choose to support our work and ministry, you provide a lifeline for survivors. You encourage our staff and volunteers to stay true to our mission.
We are confident that the Lord will provide what we need to follow His leading. Will you be part of His provision? Will you help us keep hope alive?
We’re behind budget – and truly need God to do a miracle in bringing in needed funds.
Thank you for believing in the power of hope. With your generosity, survivors can reclaim their future.
To all who have stood beside us this year: thank you for keeping hope alive.
With gratitude,
The Reclaiming Hope Team
PLEASE NOTE:
We will close our office December 22-26 for Christmas. We will be back on December 30 and 31.
Please be assured that if you make a donation online before the end of the month, it will count toward your 2025 donations. As long as checks are postmarked by Dec. 31, they also count for 2025.
How grateful we are for your support! We will be sending out our annual tax receipts in late January.
