Your email in box is filled with opportunities to donate on Colorado Gives Day, December 6. With Reclaiming Hope, your gift helps girls and women, boys and men, whom law enforcement has recovered from modern-day slavery.

THANK YOU. Thank you for your support all. year. long. Because of you, we’ve made a true impact on the lives of women, men, girls and boys hurt by trafficking.
  • As you read this, donors and volunteers are helping us to prepare over 200 Christmas stockings. These will be given to both victims and survivors in Colorado.
  • This year we’ve shipped more Hope Bags to law enforcement agencies across the nation in time for Operation Cross Country in August, when 225 victims were located. (So far, we’ve shipped 2.4 times as many Bags as we did in all of 2021!)
  • We partnered for the first time with the US Marshall’s Deputies to equip them for their first trafficking operation (read more below).
  • We launched our comprehensive Survivor Resources list on our website.
  • We further developed our housing program, providing safe and secure housing to some of our Survivors.
  • And we trained more Mentors.
Your gifts enable us to continue this important work, and will allow us to do more in the upcoming year. Thank you for considering donating on Dec. 6. Our mission will always be to help Survivors reclaim their hope.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” -Isaiah 40:31

We’re grateful to each of you and hope you have a very blessed Christmas season,

IN THE NEWS AND RESOURCES

ELEVEN MISSING CHILDREN RECOVERED
The Aurora Police Department, U.S. Marshals District of Colorado and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children recovered 11 endangered missing children during a two-week operation between Nov. 7-18. The operation was the first conducted in the state of Colorado dedicated to missing children by the U.S. Marshals Service. Our Hope Bags were part of this operation!

COLORADO’S REPORT CARD FOR TRAFFICKING
There is much room for improvement in Colorado. The Shared Hope International Report Cards on Child & Youth Sex Trafficking build upon the last decade of progress, challenging states to take the next step in the fight against sex trafficking by focusing on the area where the largest gaps remain—victim protections. These materials provide an in-depth analysis of current laws and include recommendations to strengthen those laws. In 2022, Colorado scored a “D” – however, according to this report, Colorado’s overall grade of 66.5, is also one of the highest scores from Shared Hope International.

IN CASE YOU MISSED OUR CONCERT…
Realty One hosted an incredible family-friendly event on Nov. 14 that invited the public to learn more about human trafficking and how they can help. We were honored to be a beneficiary of this event. If you missed it, you can still donate items for our Hope Bags. A hearty thanks to Realty One, and all who worked so hard with this event.

PRAYER REQUESTS

  • Thank you for being our prayer warriors! We post our Monthly Prayer Calendar on our website for easy downloading: Reclaiming Hope – Reclaiming Hope (reclaiming-hope.org) (near the bottom of the page).

As we enter the Christmas season, we wanted to share four overarching prayers you can pray through the four weeks of Advent. May our Mentees and Mentors feel overwhelmed with hope, peace, love and joy:
    • HOPE: Prayers and praise for continued collaboration and partnership with others in our community who join us in the mission to fight human trafficking and care for Survivors. We are hopeful for the education, philanthropy and advocacy work that will happen in 2023.
    • PEACE: The holidays are typically a hard time for Survivors. Please pray they find peace and moments of joy and calm during this time of year. May they experience restoration.
    • LOVE: For each person receiving a Hope Bag or Reclaiming Hope Christmas stocking this month, we pray they feel God’s loving embrace. May survivors and their children be surrounded by people who love and care for them every day of the year.
    • JOY: May the Reclaiming Hope Mentors and Mentees enjoy Christmas. Pray the sights and sounds of Christmas only produce reminders of the joy that is to come.
If you can also pray for these needs, we’d be grateful:
    • Our Mentee/Mentor Christmas party is Dec. 3. May all present experience Joy and Peace.
    • Pray for the wisdom of healthcare workers helping Mentees struggling with health concerns and affordable interventions.
    • Pray boldly for the legislators and decision makers in the 2023 legislative session. May they fight for justice and restoration for Victims of human trafficking.
    • Praise for a Mentee who had been out of touch with their Mentor reconnected with them!
    • Pray that 2023 is the year sex trafficking prevention education gains access in school curriculum and learning.

Some of our Mentee Survivors painted Christmas ornaments this year. We have them in the office. All proceeds will go directly back to the Survivors.
