At the end of November, a local church gave us everything needed for 100 adult Hope Bags. Wow. What a generous gift! We checked all of the items into inventory, wondering when and how it would all be used.

Bam! Within 10 days, we received a request for 128 Hope Bags! Yes, God knew we would need all of these supplies, and more, to meet this need.

We’ve just received a gracious letter from the recipients of the Hope Bags (the San Francisco Police Department). Since it is your volunteering, your giving, and your prayers, which enabled us to ship these Bags in a timely manner, we want to share this with you:

“ I sincerely wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation for the Hope Bags that you sent the Special Victims-Human Trafficking Unit. Our Sergeants and police officers have been able to help numerous victims of sex trafficking by providing them with the thoughtful and resourceful backpacks that you and your staff provided making a lasting impact. The clothing alone allows these women to regain a sense of dignity and self-worth, reminds them they are valued members of our society, and the stuffed animals bring them comfort in uncertain and often scary times.

“It is a pleasure to be connected and supported by an agency like yours that sheds light on such a sensitive yet important topic. You have provided useful resources through these backpacks, that for many of these victims and survivors, truly begins their journey of hope when they’re trying to escape the sex trafficking world.”

Will you continue to pray with us that these bags truly bring Hope to those who receive them?

One graduate of our Mentor Program is going through a hard health battle. A current Mentee is starting a new job. Another is seeking new work. Would you please pray for them?

Some of our volunteers asked that we have more opportunities for their spouses to be involved. That’s why we’re going to start having monthly fund-raising evenings at local restaurants! Our first is March 21 (Applebee’s on Garden of the Gods. Flyer inserted below, click to print), and then April 19th (Chipotle, Southgate). Please mark your calendars. More details to come.

We know that some of you are struggling financially right now, which makes it even more costly for you to support our work. Please know that we are grateful when you send in donations as God puts it on your heart.

We are so grateful for you.

Blessings,

Sues Hess, Executive Director
