This summer, we could really use your help! When law enforcement intervenes in a trafficking rescue, in a domestic violence case, or in the midst of an emergency, our Hope Bags are utilized. Survivors of these crimes or circumstances typically only have the clothes that they are wearing when they are recovered. And in the case of sex trafficking, their clothing are taken into evidence. Our Hope Bags not only bring much needed comfort and dignity, but also help to build trust and to bridge the gap between Victims and law enforcement.

We have already distributed more Hope Bags this year than we did in all of 2021! Because of this, we’re critically short on supplies. We are blown away by the generosity of our supporters, the requests pouring in from law enforcement and the gratitude of human trafficking Survivors who have been blessed by these bags.

If you have the means to host a church or Bible study drive, or request donations at your Fourth of July BBQ, pool party or family reunion, we regularly update our website with the items we need most: See our current Hope Bag needs here

If you’re wondering if these Hope Bags really make an impact, read the words of this victim specialist who has distributed Hope Bags to many people in need:

“I am reaching out to say a heartfelt thank you for my recent receipt of Hope Bags. I appreciate them so much and they absolutely get put to good use. It’s such a wonderful thing to be able to provide some comfort to a human trafficking Victim/Survivor in the form of clothes, toiletries, blanket, etc. The things that are often taken for granted…  Again, thank you for all you do to support us in the field!”

The lists of needs are separated into age groups on our website (and yes, while surprising – Hope Bags for ALL age groups below are utilized regularly by our law enforcement partners):
Thank you for your ongoing support for Survivors in our community and beyond in the form of prayer and Hope Bags. Your generosity has the power to change the moment of rescue for Survivors across the country – that is the true love of Christ showing up!

We are hiring for two part-time positions within our ministry: Survivor Care Manager, and Office Manager. If you’d like to know more, please email me: sues@reclaiming-hope.org

Beginning in July, our office will be open: Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. We love meeting you!

In prayers and in Christ,
Sues Hess
Executive Director

PRAYER REQUESTS

Thank you for being our prayer warriors! We post our Monthly Prayer Calendar on our website for easy downloading: Reclaiming Hope – Reclaiming Hope (reclaiming-hope.org) (near the bottom of the page). Please join us in praying for the following this month:
  • We continuously send Hope Bags across the nation; may they communicate God’s unconditional love for the Survivors who receive them.
  • Ask the Lord to bless and strengthen each Victim Advocate/Specialist we ship our Hope Bags to; may they find rest in their down time. And may they stay safe while working.
  • Pray for the connections listed on our Survivor Resource List help Survivors find the services they need.
  • The economy has had an impact on our support so far in 2022. May the Lord bless all who sacrificially give to support our ministry.
  • May each Survivor overcome their fear so that they can choose healthy friends and activities. May they learn how to be healthy friends to others, and release old, unhealthy friends.
  • Pray our Mentees find jobs that propel them toward healthy self-images and financial independence. May they find opportunities to pursue their dreams!

THANK YOU

Reclaiming Hope can only meet the needs of Survivors as our community equips us to do so. We are grateful for each person who helps – through donations for our mentees, our Hope Bags, and financial donations, and by volunteering.

We’ve had the unique blessing of receiving (lightly used) office furniture from Biblica, the International Society, and the Association of Christian Schools International. Wow. Our office has taken on a whole new look! Drop by sometime to see!

Thanks to all of the groups who regularly drop by with donations and come and volunteer. Fox 21 News, Peak Producers, Women World Changers, and so many others. We couldn’t have the impact that we do without you. Thank you.

And we’re grateful for the following groups and organizations that have worked with us in the last few months! Thank you!
