We can’t believe it’s almost the holiday season! While this year has rushed by quickly (too quickly to get out a newsletter to you the end of October – sorry), we’re thrilled to usher in this season of generosity and gratitude with you.

If you’re looking for a few creative ways to support Reclaiming Hope through the end of 2022, we have some ideas:

1. Pray

  • We rely on the Lord’s blessings to make an impact. We now post a monthly prayer calendar on our website home page: www.reclaiming-hope.org with specific requests.
  • Reclaiming Hope is in the running for a People’s Choice Award with Vanguard Skin Specialists ($10,000!). Vote for us by liking Reclaiming Hope’s logo on Vanguard Skin Specialists Facebook page. The winner will be determined based on the total number of likes. Voting ends November 18th at 5:00 PM. If you can vote for us, we’d be grateful!
  • Our current needs through the month of November are hair picks, blister bandages, blank journals and slider sandals of various sizes for both men and women. We’ve distributed over 920 Hope Bags so far this year (over 30,100 items!!!); we can’t fill Bags without your help. Thanks to those who have helped us make this impact.
  • This year, Colorado Gives Day is an entire season! Between now and Dec. 6, any support given to a nonprofit participating in this incredible statewide mission will contribute to Colorado Gives Day. Consider donating to Reclaiming Hope before Dec. 6.
6. Fill a Christmas Stocking!
  • Below is the list of needs for our Christmas stockings this year. We have requests for over 200 stockings, which will be given to both victims and survivors in Colorado. The stockings will be distributed at the end of November. To volunteer to help with this or organize a donation drop-off, please contact us at 719-425-9405 or email us at info@reclaiming-hope.org.

In this moment, the Reclaiming Hope team is feeling rejuvenated and inspired! At the beginning of November, our staff and mentors gathered for their annual retreat among the trees and early snowfall at the Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp. We’re grateful for this moment of rest before the busy holiday season and 2023 begins. We were able to plan and pray for all the Survivors we’ll have the opportunity to impact in the year to come. Thank you for your continuous prayers and support — this planning, and our entire ministry, is possible because of you! We thank God or you.

Thank you for walking with us,
Sues Hess

OPERATION CROSS COUNTRY
The first two weekends of August, law enforcement task forces across the country worked together to locate victims of sex trafficking. (They were equipped with Hope Bags!) The result? 225 victims were located. In Colorado, 22 were located, including 11 minors. Please continue to pray for the adjustments and healing each victim now faces.

The CEO of Compass 31 was one of the guest speakers at the 15th annual Human Trafficking Symposium. The goal of this yearly gathering is to continue promoting education on human trafficking.

PRAYER REQUESTS

  • Thank you for being our prayer warriors! We post our Monthly Prayer Calendar on our website for easy downloading: Reclaiming Hope – Reclaiming Hope (reclaiming-hope.org) (near the bottom of the page). Please join us in praying for the following this month:
    • Pray for the connections listed on our Survivor Resource List to help Survivors find the services they need.
    • The holidays are typically a hard time for Survivors. May they find hope and joy this year.
    • Pray for a youth ministry putting together Hope Bags as a way to give back this season, and the other groups who are putting together stockings.
    • Pray for each recipient of a Christmas stocking, including current employees in massage parlors.
    • Pray boldly for the legislators and decision makers in the 2023 legislative session. May they fight for justice and restoration for Victims of human trafficking.
    • Join us in giving thanks for all the donors and partner nonprofits who are joining us in the mission to fight human trafficking and care for Survivors.
